Jaipur, popularly known as Pink City has many scenic historical monuments that attract tourists and droves many each year. Story of every historical place is as beautiful as the monument itself. These monuments have stood the test of time and they are a perfect showcase of our magnificent past.

They are not just the key tourist destinations but are also symbols of our civilizations and rich heritage. They are cyphers of our historic magnitude and something future generations will be proud of. However, wear and tear by time and other natural reasons take its toll on many of these monuments. For these monuments to be there and delight visitors for yet another century, it is vital to pay attention to their maintenance and refurbishment.

The KGK Group, which originated its expedition from the attractive and historical Pink City understands this and sees it as its responsibility to give back to Jaipur where the group’s glorious journey started. One of the most charismatic monuments in Jaipur city is the Jal Mahal Palace. Built during the Mughal-era, this palace stands in the center of the lake.

In 2005, the restoration work of the monument began by KGK Group as envisioned by Mr. Navrattan Kothari and the task was disheartening at first. The lake, on which the palace stands, was an environmental disaster and the palace was slowly abating into a ruin.

KGK Group took up the task of reinstating the Jal Mahal and got numerous experts national and international, traditional craftsmen, architects, historians and experts of art, culture and design involved in this thought-provoking project. Given the historic importance of Jal Mahal, every little detail was studied carefully by experts at KGK Group and the place was restored keeping its original beauty intact

Restoring Jal Mahal was not enough, even the lake on which it stood needed a massive transformation. The drains that were flowing into it were diverted and two million tones of toxic silt was dredged away. After adding water treatment system a lot of local vegetation and fish have flourished in the lake. This improvement in the environment has brought back the migratory birds to the surrounding wetlands.
