An organization is only as good as the leaders it has. Mr. Navrattan Kothari is one such leader, whose vision helped KGK Group reach next level.   

“I have been taking wisdom about gems and jewellery business since my early childhood and till date my learning has never concluded. Success inspires me to learn more and expand my bounds. Now that I am also an educator, I love sharing all the information, experience and leadership that my forefathers have imparted in me,” says Navrattan Kothari, chairman, KGK Group.

                                                             

He has been leading KGK Group since 1960s. Under his guidance the business has extended across 17 countries and is a diversified multinational now. The company began its story as a modest trader of gemstones in 1905 and today it is a name to reckon with in the jewelry business.

He is a visionary and a risk taker – he has successfully tried various fields in the industry and has created a name for himself and the group in the Gems and jewelry world. His idea is to do good work rather than talk and he considers in proving his spirit through actions. He is a great guide and a leader and under his management the group has cultivated brilliant artisans and experts. He has encouraged generation in the industry to push the envelope in the jewelry trade. He endures to be the guiding light for the new generations and others in the business.

    

Though there are many jewelers based out of The Pink City, the city that is the origin of the KGK Group. But few have been able to reach the similar elevations that the group has. This outstanding growth has been possible because of Mr Navrattan Kothari’s idea to make it happen. With his guidance KGK Group made a mark for itself in the  the entire spectrum of mining, sourcing, manufacturing, distributing and retailing of coloured stones, diamonds and jewellery.

    

He then started the company’s operation in Hong Kong office in 1962. And in 1972-73 he read the pulse of the diamond trading and focused on that. The company is a frontrunner in this division with diamond-manufacturing units in India, South Africa, Russia and Botswana. He went on to achieve a lot more including the status of authorized bulk purchaser of rough diamonds and De Beers Sightholder. In 2015, KGK Diamonds Botswana also became a De Beers Sightholder and the company also boasts of being an Alrosa Alliance member and a Rio Tinto Select Diamontaire.
