He could have followed in the family business of gems and jewelry because of his illustrious ancestry, but instead he chose the road less travelled. He uprooted his life and moved to Chennai to start his first business, leaving behind more than just his illustrious surname but also a legacy that has since led to exponential growth for the company. Mr. Kothari is the primary force behind the KGK group, a multinational corporation with interests and expertise ranging from mining and manufacturing of gemstones, sourcing and manufacturing of diamonds, jewelry manufacturing and retail, and infrastructure and real estate development.  

A patriarch and mentor 

Mr. Kothari, the Patriarch KGK Group, has revolutionized. The gems and jewelry industry and became a role model for the young generation. With his unmatched guidance, the Group has expanded to 16 different nations. Mr. Kothari expanded the company's focus from gemstone trading to opportunities in diamond and precious stone production. The Group expanded its business from trading gemstones to producing some of the world's most dazzling gems and diamonds.

Proponent of health care Mr. Kothari opened the Bhagwan Mahaveer Cancer Hospital & Research Centre in Jaipur, India, in 1996 in response to the steadily rising number of terminally ill cancer patients enduring intolerable suffering and trauma. This one-stop center for cancer care, education, and research is accredited by the National Association of Boards of Health Care.

Mr. Navrattan Kothari believes in guiding and supporting his team of talented artisans and professionals through action rather than expression through words. In his efforts to make Jaipur a better place, he has also opened up new channels for protecting the city's historic architecture.
